Frozen

even though life tried to cheat me
laughing at me
out of the corners of my broken soul
nothing could steal this perfect moment
on the day you were born

as your rosy cheeks
rest on my chest
my fingers caressing
your velvet soft skin
as my lips brush
against your beautiful face
nestling close to me
my heart bursting at its seams
I wish I can trun back time
because when I looked into your eyes
I saw a part of myself
staring back at me
and I felt my soul
come alive

the first time
I held you in my arms
time stood still
for in the moment
frozen in time
