Ataturk
Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives
you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country
therefore rest in peace,
There is no difference between the Johnnies
and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side – – –
You the mothers,
who sent their children from far away countries
wipe away your tears,
your sons are now lying in our bosom
and are in peace,
THEY HAVE BECOME OUR SONS s well – – –
( En by die jongmanne se grafte?)
Linger not stranger, shed no tear,
go back to those that sent us here
we are the young they drafted out
to wars their folly brought about
Go tell those old men safe in bed
we took their orders and are dead – – –
Ataturk,
simbool teen hedendaagse terreur – – –
Omskep daardie yskoue winterharte
